Our Story
ChamaPay was born from a simple observation: traditional chamas and saccos were struggling with manual record-keeping, lack of transparency, and inefficient payment collection. Despite being the backbone of Kenya's informal economy, these savings groups lacked modern tools to manage their operations effectively.
Founded in 2020, we set out to build a comprehensive platform that would digitize every aspect of chama management - from savings tracking and loan processing to mobile money integration and automated SMS notifications. Today, ChamaPay serves over 500 chamas across Kenya and Africa, managing more than KSH 500 million in annual transactions.
